I have come to a couple of conclusions thus far this summer....
1. I have NEVER used an umbrella so much. Or I should say I have never RELIED on an umbrella so much. It seems like almost nightly I am leaving it opened in the living room to dry it out. Yes, it is still raining and we are under flash flood warnings again all night.
2. I spent alot of time on the metro today riding to and from Rockville, Maryland for a site visit and to help with a staff inservice on residents' rights. It is common that all people under the age of 35 are wearing ipods and it is so funny to watch as everyone just nods and smiles back and forth at one another because they can't hear. But there is something odd about a guy who was probably 70+ years old and dressed in a suit all hooked up with his ipod. I haven't seen it much and it just isn't the norm I guess...I feel odd because I don't even own an ipod!!

Well, I think we are in the same boat, but just different ocean.
1. I use an umbrella at least 2 times per week. I stopped counting, but I have a small enough one that fits in my bag.
2. Everyone has Mp3 players here. A lot of Ipod's, but I have one made by Sandisk because it was a lot cheaper. Of course I bought it in the US because if I bought it hear it would be a) incompatible with my computer, b) the instructions would not be in English, and c) there would be no support for my product once returning to the US.
My question is: is it quiet on public transportation or do a lot of people chat?
it is quiet because of the fact that everyone is wearing ipods!! :)
