HOT HOT HOT!

Wow two posts in one day!

Spent the morning at the National Cathedral church services, then had a great lunch at Cactus Cantina...an awesome Mexican restaurant right next to the Cathedral that I have been wanting to try. It was fairly inexpensive, and WELL worth it in my opinion. There were 8 of us that went, and I wish I took a picture of the table of all of our food when they finished bringing it. We got about every single thing on a different plate: meat, rice, bowl of beans, lettuce and toppings, etc. TONS of food. After lunch a few of us headed over to check out the Juneteenth celebration. It just wasn't what I thought it would be...very small and low key. There weren't many people there either. We didn't stay very long due to the heat and humidity but the performers were interesting. I'll post some photos later this week when I download them. We headed home around 4pm and stopped at Safeway for some groceries.

I was beat and dripping grossly in sweat by the time we walked back to the apartment. And THAT'S why I love the fact that we are indirectly paying for the air conditioning and it has been cranked at about 70 degrees since we got home. It feels so nice.....

It's getting late...nearly time for bed! :)
